The Amalfi Coast is not just a summer destination but a land of extraordinary beauty and culture that deserves to be experienced year-round. With this spirit, Minori hosts the Winter Fest from January 3 to 6, 2025—the first major event of the year, embodying a vision to extend tourism beyond the summer months.
"This festival is much more than an event; it's a statement of intent," said Mayor Andrea Reale during the inauguration on January 3. "We aim to break the paradigm that associates the Amalfi Coast exclusively with summer. By offering unique experiences that blend art, music, culinary excellence, and local traditions, we hope to attract visitors even in winter."
The festival includes exclusive morning concerts from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, set against breathtaking coastal landscapes, offering an intimate and authentic way to experience the region.
Music and Culinary Highlights
On Saturday, January 4, the musical program features prominent artists such as Enzo Gragnaniello, The Caponi Brothers Quintet, and the Soul-Food Vocalist. On Sunday, January 5, performances include Peppe Servillo with the Solis String Quartet in "Carosonamente," Marina Bruno and Daniele Sepe in quartet, and Song Napoletana, reinterpreting Neapolitan classics in a fresh style.
"Minori, the ‘City of Taste,' is the gastronomic heart of the coast," Reale continued. "Chef Luigi Di Ruocco has coordinated with the area's top establishments to create an extraordinary culinary journey."
Participating establishments include: Sal De Riso, Pasticceria Gambardella, Il Bistro dell'Avvocato, La Ricetta, La Botte, Il Giardiniello, Tipico Terre di Nocciola, Cuonc Cuouc, F.lli Mandara, Bar 52, Bar Bambi, and Liquorificio Gambardella.
Guests can savor a curated selection of cocktails and dishes such as anchovy meatballs with scapece, calamari and potatoes, paccheri alla genovese, and the famous Ndunderi Minoresi. Sweet delights include struffoli, panettone in various flavors, limoncello, and hazelnut liqueur.
Tradition and Festivities
The Winter Fest embraces local heritage with performances by the New Year's band ‘Mo sì... 'e mai cchiú' and the Premiato Concerto Bandistico Città di Minori, filling the streets with traditional melodies.
The festival opens with "Aperimusic" on Friday, January 3, at Pasticceria Gambardella, followed by the 20th edition of the "Città di Minori-Francesca Mansi" Choral Festival in the Basilica of St. Trofimena at 7:00 PM. The event concludes with the Befana Cocktail Party at Sal De Riso on January 6 at 5:30 PM.
"Winter Fest is a model we intend to replicate and expand," concluded Reale. "Minori aims to be a jewel of culture and hospitality 365 days a year. Join us in discovering a new side of the Amalfi Coast, one that captivates in every season."
