Salerno's mayor, Vincenzo Napoli, officially unveiled the Amalfi Coast Cruise Terminal - Port of Salerno, a project born from the merger of Salerno Cruises and the Maritime Terminal. This new cruise hub seeks to solidify the strategic role of the Port of Salerno as a pivotal gateway for regional tourism.
The name, inspired by the iconic "Divina Costiera" (Divine Coast), forges a direct link between the breathtaking Amalfi Coast and the Port of Salerno, which has become the heart of this project due to its strategic location and extensive redevelopment efforts in recent years. Every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors dock in Salerno, finding a gateway not only to the Amalfi Coast but also to the broader treasures of Campania: Pompeii, Paestum, the Royal Palace of Caserta, and Cilento.
The vision is ambitious: to create a brand that connects Salerno's key infrastructures - its port, airport, and high-speed train station - to the rich tapestry of historical, artistic, and cultural attractions surrounding it. This initiative reinforces Salerno's position as a growing, consolidated tourist destination both nationally and internationally.
"We will continue working together to build an even brighter future for our city," Mayor Napoli affirmed, emphasizing Salerno's growing reputation as a crossroads of beauty and culture.
